Dolomite Leads The Way In Double Emulsion Research - New Chip Holder Allows Direct Coupling Of Microfluidic Chips

Dolomite Leads The Way In Double Emulsion Research - New Chip Holder Allows Direct Coupling Of Microfluidic Chips
Dolomite, a world leader in microfluidic design and manufacture, has introduced the Mitos Double Chip Holder H. This new connector allows direct interfacing of two microfluidic chips with accurate micro-channel to micro-channel connection via a precision perfluoroelastomer gasket. Once aligned the connection provides minimal disruption to the fluid flow. In one application, this was demonstrated by the flow of a stream of 50 micron droplets from one chip to another, showing that standard chips can be used to generate double emulsions.

Dolomite develops leading edge etching technology enabling chip design similar to porous rock structures

Dolomite develops leading edge etching technology enabling chip design similar to porous rock structures
Understanding the full characteristics of fluid flow through porous structures, such as rock, is essential for applications including oil extraction from petroleum reservoirs, environmental testing and groundwater analysis. However, fluid flow through porous media is very complex and difficult to analyse. The pore space within the rock is not only difficult to access but often characterised by parameters like connectivity and tortuosity which are very difficult to measure and quantify.

Dolomite Provides Precise Control Over Pressure And Flow Rates

Dolomite Provides Precise Control Over Pressure And Flow Rates
Dolomite, has introduced the new Mitos Sensor Units to provide a flexible system for measuring and displaying pressure and flow rates in microfluidic systems. With a real-time display and low internal volumes, each sensor is designed to minimise interference with the liquid flow. All data is clearly displayed on the Mitos Sensor Display unit, which interfaces with each of the sensor units using a simple push-and-click action. Comprising of 5 flow rate sensors and 1 pressure sensor (-0.5 – 30bar), the complete range is fully interchangeable and each device can run stand-alone or integrated with a Mitos P-Pump for the efficient logging of flow rate output. All data is easily transferrable to a PC for further analysis via USB.
