A new pressure transmitter especially for aeronautical applications has been developed by Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation. Completely made of stainless steel, the compact device meets the high requirements for the use in aviation operations and can be deployed for the pressure measurement of most gases and liquids.

A new FlexTop family was presented by Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation at the ACHEMA exhibition. The individually configurable temperature transmitters of the series 2202, 2203 and 2204 are suitable for the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and biological technologies, chemical and petrochemical industry as well as for heating, ventilation and air condition applications. The input can be configured for thermocouples, resistance sensors and voltage signals.

With the FlexLevel Switch 4401, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation introduces a new hygienic level switch which is suitable even for high temperatures up to 180°C. It can be easily configured on PC via the FlexProgrammer 9701. A bright blue light on top of the switch shows when a media is detected. The indication can be seen easily even if the sensor is mounted on top of a tank.

For measuring the temperature in cold water systems, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers the bimetal thermometer TB in a version with thermowell and PVC insulation protecting it against condensation and hence corrosion. The thermometer is suitable especially for HVAC, but also for other sectors like the food and beverage industry. It can measure temperature ranges from -30°C up to 500°C.

The bimetal thermometer TBHI offered by Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation has a steady pointer due to its guided wire. It is now available also with an optional damping liquid avoiding additionally vibrations. The robust measuring device made of stainless steel is suitable especially for heavy duty applications. This every angle version can measure temperature ranges from -70°C up to 600°C. It corresponds to the protection class IP 68.

The pressure gauge MEX3 offered by Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation is now available in a particularly robust version for heavy duty applications. It has been developed especially for the pressure control in hydraulic parking brakes in trains. In order to protect the sensing element against shock and the impact of stones during operation, the device is mounted in an aluminium housing equipped with a polycarbonate window.

With the series PDRJ and PDAJ, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers rugged pressure sensors that communicate via the CANopen protocol and can measure a relative or absolute pressure from -1 up to 1000 bar. In the operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C, the maximal total error is at 1% FSR for the T-class and only 0,3% FSR for the S-class. The measuring devices are suitable for complex systems over big distances or security-relevant applications like engine test benches requiring a high accuracy.

With the optical level sensor FFAR, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a robust measuring device in stainless steel housing. It detects the level via infrared light and is therefore able to identify also various non-conductive liquids.

For the use under difficult conditions on oil fields and in refineries, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation has developed a range of special safety pressure gauges. Sensing elements made of stainless steel or Monel as well as polypropylene or phenolic cases reliably protect the devices against aggressive substances.

For the use in seawater or with aggressive media, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers pressure transmitters with Parylene coating protecting against corrosion and increasing the life cycle of the measuring devices. Especially in applications of over- and underwater shipbuilding, the sensors have to be resistant against seawater.

Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a clamp-on bimetal thermometer suitable for temperature measurements of liquids and gases in insulated pipes with maximal 2 inches diameter. The thermometer is especially suitable for heating, ventilation and air-condition. It is able to measure a temperature range from –20°C to up to 160°C.

With the level sensor UFAR, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a measuring device that precisely and safely detects the level of granulates, pastes and liquids independent of their colour or consistency. It is based on an integrated ultrasonic sensor in a polished stainless steel housing 1.4435 with a G1/2” mounting thread. Additionally, the sensor’s sonic transducer is protected by an extremely media-resistant parylene coating.

With the FlexTop 2231, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a versatile temperature transmitter with Profibus communication. It is suitable for the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and biological technologies, chemical and petrochemical industry as well as for power plants. The FlexTop 2231 PA is already used by some of the world’s largest dairies for controlling temperature in milk processing plants and by major Danish gas supply companies to control the temperature in their pipelines.

With the FlexBar 3431, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a fully configurable pressure transmitter with Profibus PA communication. Due to its 3A-approved stainless steel housing and hygienic process connections, the device is suitable for the pharmaceutical and food industry. The wide range of process connections available makes the FlexBar 3431 the ideal choice for almost all types of pressure measuring applications even in Ex areas.

The Modbus Fast Response pressure transmitter EC6, developed by Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation on special customer request, stands out due to its extremely fast response time of only 1msec. For the first time, a very fast, robust and fully configurable pressure measuring device can be provided for applications communicating over Modbus such as pressure test benches and water treatment or gas generation units.

Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers the electrical pressure transmitter of the ED 701 series with a range of new features. Therefore the ED 701 is now also highly suitable for hygienic pressure measuring in the pharmaceutical and food industry.

With the EF6, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation has developed an EMC-safe pressure transmitter suitable especially for transport applications. It is already applied in the brake system of several high speed trains.

With the level switch LSM, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a hygienic measuring device available with different 3A approved process connections. It is especially suitable for the use in the food and beverage industry.

With their Barflex IrDA, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers a portable electronic pressure gauge with integrated memory for data acquisition on site. The collected data can be transferred to any PC via an infrared interface. The device is very easy to handle and most suitable for the measurement of liquids and gases.

With the digital temperature switches of the ETTN-YTTN range, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers robust measuring instruments for temperature control for industrial process management. The devices are made completely of stainless steel and are particularly suitable for the use in severe industrial environments. A special design with a clamp-on sensor enables easy mounting at a pipe with two standard clips. It can measure the temperature of a process without direct contact to the medium.
