The new aseptic Clamp pressure connection according to DIN 11864-3 is compatible to the EHEDG specifications and fits to stainless steel pipes according to the DIN 11866 standard. Since certain limits for the ferrite content in the used stainless steel are demanded in the pharmaceutical industry, a certificate proves the content of this component.
In order to reduce the surface roughness, the process connections can be electropolished. The ED 701 is available in different roughness classes which can be verified by a certificate.
For applications with oxygen as for example used in hospitals, the process connection has to be completely free of oil and grease. With the ED 701 this can be achieved by using halocarbon oil as filling liquid and a specific cleaning, whereas for applications in the food industry, the standard oil filling is white oil which is – as well as the o-rings – FDA-approved.
Depending on the application, other materials can be used instead of stainless steel. For example, the whole pressure connection can be provided in Hastelloy C or the wetted parts can be provided with a thin gold coating to guarantee highest possible resistance against corrosion.
Due to a large range of process and electrical connections, a 4…20 mA current loop and various voltage output signal versions, the ED 701 is suitable for a great variety of applications. The line’s most distinctive features are its very high accuracy over a wide temperature range, an excellent repeatability and long time stability, as well as the short response time down to 5 ms.
