Atlas Copco Compressors ships largest ever UK designed and built custom engineered package, worth over £6million, to Kazakhstan
Atlas Copco Compressors has completed delivery of its single largest-ever UK designed and built order, comprising instrument and process air compressor modules, worth in excess of £6million, to Kazakhstan where it will be used as part of a large project in the oil and gas industry. The physical size of the modules, which were custom-engineered at Atlas Copco’s Systems Division in Hemel Hempstead, required the chartering of an Antonov 124, one of the largest freight transporter aircraft in the world.

UK industry to save 16.5 million kWh of energy in 2012 using Atlas Copco VSD compressors
Research carried out by compressed air equipment manufacturer Atlas Copco, has revealed that UK Industry will save over 16.5 million kWh of energy in 2012 as a result of using the company’s energy efficient Variable Speed Drive (VSD) compressors. The amount of energy saved is the equivalent to that needed to make a massive 663 million large cups of tea, or a reduction in CO2 emissions of just under 9 million kg.

Atlas Copco compressor helps Celotex save energy, improve air quality and achieve ISO 14001 accreditation
In a bid to meet production demands for improvements in energy efficiency and air quality, insulation board manufacturer Celotex has replaced its existing compressor installation with an Atlas Copco full-feature, variable speed drive, oil-free compressor together with a heat regenerative IMD dryer. The result is reduced energy consumption and improved air supply quality within the manufacturing plant. The positive environmental impact of the new installation has also been a contributory factor in gaining the company its ISO 14001 accreditation.
