Müller Dairy has made substantial savings in gas process heating costs by utilizing Atlas Copco compressors incorporating energy recovery technology. Compressed air plays an essential role in Müller Dairy’s large scale production operation, based at its Market Drayton manufacturing plant, where over 600,000 litres of raw milk are processed daily.

Atlas Copco Compressors has launched a new central controller which can be connected to up to sixteen compressors. The ES 16 provides compressed air users with one central point of control for an entire compressed air network as it retrieves and processes information coming from compressors, dryers and other measurement equipment. Atlas Copco Compressors has launched a new 30-90 kW oil-injected screw compressor range which offers significant improvements in sustainability and reliability, as well as performance increases of up to 10%. The new GA 30+ to 90 range is available in three different variants making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Research carried out by compressed air equipment manufacturer Atlas Copco, has revealed that UK Industry will save over 16.5 million kWh of energy in 2012 as a result of using the company’s energy efficient Variable Speed Drive (VSD) compressors. The amount of energy saved is the equivalent to that needed to make a massive 663 million large cups of tea, or a reduction in CO2 emissions of just under 9 million kg.

In a bid to meet production demands for improvements in energy efficiency and air quality, insulation board manufacturer Celotex has replaced its existing compressor installation with an Atlas Copco full-feature, variable speed drive, oil-free compressor together with a heat regenerative IMD dryer. The result is reduced energy consumption and improved air supply quality within the manufacturing plant. The positive environmental impact of the new installation has also been a contributory factor in gaining the company its ISO 14001 accreditation.

Atlas Copco Compressors is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring WorldSkills London 2011, the world’s largest international skills competition for young people. A 0% APR (Annual Percentage Rate) finance scheme is being launched by Atlas Copco Compressors UK to replace the recently withdrawn Carbon Trust loans scheme and to encourage investment in energy efficient compressed air technology. The scheme will be available on equipment ordered from 1st July 2011.

Atlas Copco has launched three new energy-efficient desiccant air dryer ranges designed to ensure a reliable source of high quality, dry compressed air is available to meet the needs of the most demanding applications. The new dryer ranges are particularly suitable for industries such as electronics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas process operations, where using the highest quality compressed air is vital. The three new air dryer ranges use desiccants to adsorb moisture from the compressed air, therefore protecting production process equipment and helping to maintain end product quality.

As one of the strategically located CustomDesign engineering centres, the UK workshop now plays a major role in the supply of bespoke solutions across the globe.
