Elscint Automation has developed a vibrator bowl feeder for feeding of very thin washers.

An air operated hoist from J D Neuhaus has been used for the safe and successful handling of an assembled pipeline string of some 1000 metres in length. This involved the connection of individual pipeline sections, each eight metres long, to create a completed string weighing 30 tonnes which had to be positioned within a mining shaft.

There were a total of 7 tubes and in some cases the diameter was more than the length, some cases the diameter was less than the length (length being more) while in two cases, the diameter and length were the same.

Premier Foods, Chivers Hartley Division of Cambridge have specified a Kosme machine for the high speed labelling of their quality jams and preserves. The versatile machine is one of the Kosme Merkur modular range which has initially been set up for wet glue label application. It has replaced a competitors labelling machine which was unable to maintain the production standards set by the company.
