New ARCMate weld robot gets fully integrated ‘base to torch’ cable management
Faster programming and longer cable life are just two benefits provided by FANUC Robotics’ new ARCMate 100iC Robot. Internal cable management, from the robot’s ‘base to the weld torch’, allows the dress package (wire, gas and power supplies) to accurately and repeatably follow the robots motion avoiding snagged and broken cables.
The six axes ARCMate100iC has a new slim design throughout, allowing closer integration of multiple robots and improved access to confined areas. A cantilevered forearm design allows the wire feed unit to be positioned in line with the arm further maintaining the arms compact design.

By using its advanced collision protection software, integral to its R30iA controller, the ARCMate 100iC does not require a collision protection sensor – this allows the weld torch offset to be significantly shortened. In addition the cable management system ensures that full rotation of the wrist joint is possible while maintaining the full protection of the service cables and shield gas pipes.

Speed and work envelope have both been increased with the new ArcMate. Measured axes speeds and controlled weld test pieces illustrate an available production rate increase of 15%. The 1.4Mtr reach and the ability to flip over provides the robot with a best in class work envelope - when mounted in an inverted position the new arm also has an expanded motion area.

Control of up to 40 multiple axes is available with the R-30iA controller and when used in multi-arm mode one controller can control four arms and four auxiliary axes groups.

Further reducing the additional control hardware common to any installation, the new controller can be completed with its own Programmable Machine Controller (PMC). The PMC has an integrated monitor which allows the user to monitor the PMC ladder in a graphic display for all levels and sub programs that reside in the controller.
