The work was accomplished using a JDN Profi 37 Ti hoist, part of a series on offer with load capacities ranging from 250kg to 100 tonnes. These Ex rated products ensure the highest levels of safety for operating in potentially explosive or other dangerous atmospheres which can occur in mining, both the on and offshore oil industries, armaments plants, paint production, sawmills and woodworking establishments, plus foundries etc.
The hoists are compact and flexible, offering excellent weight/load ratios, with the Profi 37 Ti having an all-up weight of 880kg (with a standard 10 metre chain length) while offering an impressive 37.5 tonne lifting capacity. The elimination of any electrical power supply for drive mechanisms or ancillary equipment eliminates the potential for ignition risk, while increased spark-protection features ensure the highest ATEX ratings for hazardous area operation. Hydraulically operated hoists can also be provided where an air supply may not be readily available.
A new JDN brochure for shipyard, offshore and other general heavy engineering applications for their air operated products can now be supplied. This incorporates information on the Profi Ti range of hoists, together with associated trolleys for I beam installation. These are suitable for carrying capacities up to 20T and include manual, reel chain and air motor operation. For areas with restricted headroom, motor operated trolleys having carrying capacities from 0.5 to 6.3T are also available. JDN mini series hoists are also included for lift capacities ranging from 125 to 980kg, together with Profi lifters and pullers up to 3000kg.
