Wilson Process Systems (WPS), the leading contract manufacturer, has recently installed new environmental testing equipment to support the needs of a client operating in the challenging Transport industry.
Weiss-Gallenkamp Limited is a world leader in the field of Environmental Testing Equipment. The C 600 –70 Pro test chamber that WPS has just acquired enables continuous temperature cycling between -70 and +180degC and includes a patented psychrometric humidity measurement system. It is used by clients whose products are subjected to extremes of temperature and humidity and who therefore want to test them in a simulated environment prior to commissioning.
In this instance, a manufacturer of data logging equipment, which is positioned in exposed locations all around the world, requested that the assembled PCBs that WPS produces for them be temperature cycled between -10 and +60degC for 24 hours. Commented WPS’ Sales Director, Nick Jones: “We are getting similar requests on a regular basis as electronics equipment moves more and more into the open air where it is exposed to all sorts of weather conditions. It is our long-standing policy at WPS to invest in new equipment to support new and existing clients, and the Weiss-Gallenkamp environmental test chamber is just the latest example of this policy, resulting in an improved service to our customers.”
