Highly accurate and highly dynamic PROFINET / EtherCAT encoder

Extending its WDGA series of absolute encoders, Wachendorff Automation, the Geisenheim/Germany-based encoder manufacturer is using PROFINET-IO and EtherCAT Industrial Ethernet interfaces. With the new WDGA58F, Wachendorff has succeeded in constructing the world's smallest design in both diameter and length. As the trend towards ever more compact systems continues undiminished, this saves valuable installation space which can be crucial in new or retrofitted machines. 

Despite this compact design, high bearing loads ensure tremendous durability and maximum service life.

Wachendorff´s PROFINET / EtherCAT encoders are able to keep pace with the latest PLC technologies thanks to minimum bus cycle times. The single-turn section, with innovative QuattroMag technology, provides a resolution of up to 16-bits, a precision of +/- 0.0878° (12-bit), a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.0878° (12-bit) and internal dynamics of 50μs. For the multi-turn section, Wachendorff´s PROFINET / EtherCAT encoders feature maintenance-free and space-saving EnDra technology.

Thanks to these highly accurate and highly dynamic magnetic scanning technologies, WDGA absolute encoders can be used in numerous applications, in which only absolute encoders based on optical principles could be used up until now.

Plant manufacturers and mechanical engineers also benefit from the modular principle utilised by Wachendorff Automation, in combination with its strictly applied LeanQ manufacturing production philosophy.
