For certain applications such as magnitude only or for tuning and adjustment, scalar analyzers offer faster setup, simpler calibration, and better ease of use than VNAs.

The Model 8003 Precision Scalar Analyzer can make accurate, single sensor power measurements over a frequency range of 10 MHz to 40 GHz with a dynamic range of -70 to +20 dBm. This is ideal for applications such as tuning filters and adjusting amplifier gain flatness.
