CMOS sensor based event detection system from Southern Vision Systems, Inc.
Southern Vision Systems, Inc. today announced the introduction of TriggerView, a unique CMOS sensor based event detection system. Highly-reliable and low latency, TriggerView utilizes SVSi’s patent-pending Image Cued Triggering to replace infrared, motion, proximity or other sensors to provide a TTL trigger to cameras, recording devices, metrology equipment or PLCs.
A user-defined window can be identified within the field-of-view (FOV) that tells TriggerView where to look for motion or intensity fluctuations. Unlike systems that detect events within the software application and can therefore only react at very low frame rates, each image coming off the sensor is then sampled and processed in real time at frame rates up to 17,000-Hz. If an event is recognized a TTL trigger is generated before the next frame arrives so nothing is missed.

TriggerView then resets and waits for the next event (both pulsewidth and trigger lockout can be user-defined.
