Corrosion-proof warning devices benefit from major upgrades

Safety equipment supplier E2S Warning Signals has announced the E2x family which is suitable for status indication or warning applications in Class I/II Div 2, Zone 2 and Zone 22 installations.

It is housed in a lightweight, corrosion proof PPS enclosure, it is globally certified for IECEx, UL, cUL and ATEX applications. The family now offers enhanced performance, reduced running costs, greater flexibility and new product configurations, giving specifiers more options and simplifying field configuration changes.

New to the family are the E2xBLD2 LED beacon and the E2xC1LD2 combined alarm horn and LED beacon. Combination units are available with either flare or radial sounder horns, paired with Xenon or LED beacons. The LED module, which can be set to steady or a choice of flash modes, contains a custom array of wide angle, high output Cree LEDs designed to maximise visibility of the signal in all directions. With a nominal current consumption of just 110mA, low in-rush and light output of up to 160 candela the E2x LED warning signals reduce maintenance and running costs.

All beacons in the family are now fitted with polycarbonate impact resistant UV stable lenses in amber, blue, clear, green, magenta, red and yellow. Whilst enhancing the light output, the lens filters are also field replaceable, enabling the reassignment of beacon function to be a simple and quick process.

The GNEx alarm horn sounders have now been upgraded from 45 to 64 frequencies and patterns, including many country specific and internationally recognised warning tones. Full listings of the new alarm tones for the 117 dB(A) GNExS1, GNExS1R and the 123 dB(A) GNExS2 are available online.
