When closed, the cabinet is minimalistic and elegant. But a single touch is all that is required to reveal the Amaretto and Armagnac – with the unit’s front panel smoothly descending under the control of Sugatsune’s well-established Lapcon soft-down stays.
Fully adjustable NSD type stays were selected by top designer Leonhard Pfeifer as an integral element of the cabinet’s design, which is based on the creation of a physically unobtrusive wall unit with one touch opening to reveal drinks, glasses and a generous work surface.
The front of the cabinet provides a strong visual statement through its use of an inlaid stainless steel motif and top quality walnut veneer. But the real magic occurs when the panel is gently pulled forward. Thanks to the adjustable NSD damped stays, the front panel glides down and settles into the open position - providing access to the cabinet’s contents and an ample surface area for the preparation of drinks.
Soft-down stays are frequently used to bring an extra touch of style and elegance to furniture. In this case, dependable quality and performance were key selection criteria leading to the specification of NSD type stays for the bar unit. Without consistent damping, the downward opening panel would self-destruct and potentially leave the user soaked and bruised.
Part of Sugatsune’s extensive Lapcon range of damped stays, NSD series units are available for top opening, upward opening or downward opening lids or doors. They are supplied in a nickel finish and can be adjusted for both damping and opening angle, making them an ideal choice for high quality and bespoke furniture manufacturers.
