Precision Safety Couplings / Torque Limit Series SK up to 2800 Nm
Taking up the challenge for greater technical demands in modern machine design and construction, R+W has developed the unique reliable Models SK Safety Couplings /Torque Limiters.
Torque overload protection is often overlooked in machine design until something jams resulting in expensive damage and down time. The R+W Safety Coupling Series SK was developed specifically for this purpose. It uses a reliable ball detent system that is absolutely backlash-free and will disengage within 1 to 3 milliseconds when an overload is detected.

Four versions are available including a single position, multi-position, load holding, and full disengagement. These Safety Couplings are preset in the factory to a customer specified disengagement torque and can be adjusted in the field after installation.

These unique Safety Couplings Series SK3 are manufactured with a stainless steel bellow exhibiting very high torsional rigidity with zero backlash. The important feature of this design is the fact that the bellow can compensate for axial, angular, and lateral mis-alignment simultaneously while also providing torque overload protection. The conical clamping hub provides the highest shaft holding strength and incorporates integrated back-off screws for dismounting.
The SK Safety Couplings are available for a torque range of 5 to 2800 Nm. Both shaft hubs are custom bored for shaft sizes of 10 to 100 mm.
