With bores ranging from 25 to 200mm and piston rod diameters of 14 to 140mm, Rexroth’s CDM1 cylinder series covers a wide performance spectrum at a standard nominal pressure of 160 bar. All sizes are available with stroke lengths of up to 3,000mm and provided with self-adjusting and adjustable end position cushioning. This ensures controlled and progressive deceleration in both end positions. The effective cushioning length adjusts to the requirements and allows short cushioning times. What’s more, the innovative geometry of the cushioning bushes prevents pressure peaks while the end position is being approached.
Integrated proximity switches sense the position of the piston rod in both end positions and serve as reliable end position controls. To simplify positioning and open and closed-loop control of the cylinder, a contact-free absolute position measuring system is available optionally.
Complementing the standard seal system supplied with the CDM1 series, Rexroth also offers a selection of seals that can be fitted to help increase servo performance by reducing friction. In addition, Rexroth can provide chevron seal kits and seals optimised specifically for high temperature applications up to +150°C. Further still, Rexroth installation and service engineers can accommodate enlarged pipe ports and new flanged connections with new sub-plates for high-response control valves, as well as for SL and SV valves. All in all, Rexroth offers a total of nine mounting types for this cylinder series providing the best in terms of selection and flexibility.
To help ease the engineering design and selection process, Rexroth offers a practical and intuitive interactive Hydraulic Designer tool. By using this online guide, the engineer can obtain dimensional drawings for the selected cylinder, as well as all technical details, including 2D and 3D files for direct upload to all common CAD systems.
