To achieve the best possible stability and rigidity, the CFS connection uses both a taper and a face connection. The special design and manufacture to sub-micron accuracy of the thread and taper/face section allow the connection to achieve its exceptionally high radial run-out accuracy, which optimises cutting performance and maximises tools life by ensuring that all cutting edges are used equally.
Taking full advantage of the benefits offered by the innovative CFS connection, MAPAL has introduced the new CPMill range of replaceable head milling cutters. Because of the easy and safe handling offered by these cutters, the milling head can be replaced while the tool remains in place in the milling machine, which greatly reduces set-up time as well as improving the reliability of the milling process.

CPMill milling cutters with CFS connections are available with a wide range of geometries, from high-feed types to radius mills, ensuring that customers can always find exactly the right cutter to meet their requirements.
