Few companies in the world offer this quality beam manufacturing capability and naturally Huco Dynatork is keen to maximise the potential of its talent. As a result it is introducing its own range of machined torsion springs.
This is a natural step from machining a helical beam coupling from bar stock. And the resultant springs have important performance benefits over their wire counterparts. Their torsion rate can be more accurately controlled. This is because their dimensions – cross section, pitch and length – are more precise and the structure has more consistent mechanical properties.
Although Huco Dynatork is able to manufacture its springs in aluminium, the main focus of its standard range is on materials that provide greater reliability. The range therefore includes springs made from steel and stainless steel including 17/4 PH grade that can be hardened.
The company’s flexible manufacturing ability also allows the production of special springs from one-offs to batch quantities. And the options are not restricted to simple springs. It can also machine a spring as an integral part of another component. For example it can cut a beam into a solid shaft, effectively creating two shafts joined by a helical spring. The options are extensive.
