Brevini Extends S-Series Planetary Gearbox Range to Offer Torque Ratings up to 2,500kNm

The S-series of planetary gearboxes has been developed to provide the medium and high power transmission markets with a family of products that are easy to configure, offer the highest levels of torque, and are both space saving and extremely reliable, helping to ensure maximum machine availability.
The S-series planetary range has been designed to give optimal performance with minimum size and has the ability to offer between a 40-60% reduction in terms of size and weight against traditional gear solutions. The result is an extremely robust and yet cost effective solution.

To tailor the gearbox to the exact requirements of the application, S-series gearboxes can provide up to four reduction stages as standard, with both in-line and right-angle versions. Additional reduction stages can easily be incorporated to achieve extremely high reduction ratio’s while maintaining a high overall efficiency. Output shaft options include female splined, hollow cylindrical, male cylindrical and male splined versions. The gear unit input can incorporate a multitude of different motor adaption’s (electric, hydraulic, etc.), can incorporate a multidisc brake and can of course be a simple male shaft. A wide range of input and output accessories is available. Brevini can also combine S-series gearboxes with other gear technologies to provide an integrated solution with optimal power transmission characteristics for any given application.

With the five new S Series models (S5000, S7500, S10000, S15000 and S20000), Brevini now has a single range of standard planetary gearboxes that can offer torque capacities from less than 1kNm right up to 2,500kNm.

The new sizes provide a compact and reliable solution to the industry’s most demanding tasks, including mixing applications, industrial and port lifting equipment, mining and quarrying equipment, extruders, steel production and processing plant, and other applications that process large quantities of materials in a continuous cycle process where resistance to stress, high quality production and absolute reliability are critical.
