Fairview Microwave has announced the launch of RF break-over type torque wrenches used to fasten connections between components and systems. These wrenches feature a pivoting joint that 'breaks' when the preset torque force has been reached, which prevents the connector coupling nut from being over-tightened and damaged.
Fairview's wrenches are suitable for multiple RF connector types including 1.0, 2.4, 2.92, 3.5 and 7mm, SC, SMA, SMC, SSMA, SSMC, Type N and TNC designs, These wrenches are also offered with hex sizes of 5/16, 5/8, 15/64, 5/32, 1/4, 9/16, 13/16, 3/4 and 25/32" and have maximum torque values in the rnage of 2-14in-lbs, depending on the chosen configuration.
The wrenches are made with a nickel-plated steel wrench head and a light weight, ultra-durable anodised aluminium handle. Each comes calibrated in compliance with ANSI/NCSLZ540-3 and ISO_10011 standards.
“Our series of preset break-over torque wrenches provide an accurate and consistent means of applying the proper mating force for a wide variety of RF connector types”, explains Greg Arnold, Technical Sales Manager, Fairview Microwave. “The break-over action prevents over-torqueing for optimal RF performance while minimising wear-and-tear on the connectors.”
