Advanex Europe Enjoy European Successes Through Leading Edge Products & Developing The World’s Smallest Spring
Previously it was thought that a micro spring of 30 µm wire diameter and a 90 µm inside diameter was the worlds’ smallest spring. Through their ongoing research and development, Advanex have been able to produce a working spring with a wire diameter of 15 µm and an inside diameter of 45 µm. Further work is now underway to produce a micro spring with a 9 µm diameter wire and an inside diameter of 30 µm.
Success for Advanex in European markets has also been attributable to the development of Kato CoilThread Inserts: a unique range of inserts that can reduce the time of the installation process up to 40% when compared to conventional inserts.
Kato CoilThread Inserts were designed by Advanex to eliminate the need for break-off during installation and to allow for adjustments and removals after installation. Kato CoilThread offer both tanged and Tangless inserts that save time and promote efficiencies to the end user. The Tangless inserts feature a unique, ramped driving notch on the inside of the first coil on each end of the insert. An innovative tool then uses a hooked pawl to lock into the insert driving notch and rotate the insert into the tapped hole. The pawl then retracts into the mandrel to allow the tool to back out of the installed insert.
Both tanged and Tangless inserts are made from stainless steel that can be used in temperatures ranging from -320˚f to +800˚f and conform to all applicable military, aerospace and medical standards giving full traceability. The CoilThread Inserts range comprises of locking, free running, bulk, strip, unified and metric variants.
