Stainless steel options for the toughest jobs

There are many advantages that stainless steel can offer to fabrication projects, with corrosion resistance being one of the most important. However, working with this material requires specialist equipment and so A&J Fabtech has invested in machinery, computer systems, personnel and training to develop top-flight capabilities in this specialist field.

Mark Wright, Managing Director at A&J Fabtech said his company’s facilities and capabilities for stainless steel fabricating projects are second to none. He continued: “Over the last 12 months we have re-invested to make sure we have all the latest equipment required, from new hand tools to welding plant, manipulators, press brakes and rollers.

“Between them, our engineers have many years of experience and expertise with stainless steel. They are organised into dedicated teams that can take a project from initial concept to installation, handover and maintenance. Further, we have ensured they are equipped with the latest CAD tools, project management, finite element, 2D and 3D modelling software.”

A&J Fabtech has a history of working with stainless steel, in virtually all grades and across a wide range of industries. It has manufactured and installed tanks and pressure vessels, mixers and process plant, access walkways and stairs as well as just about every other type of plant and equipment for industries including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, water treatment, medical equipment and consumables.

For instance, it has recently made two 100m3 collection, settlement and separation tanks for Southern Water. Wright said: “As with all our projects, these were delivered on time, to budget and were installed and commissioned without any drama on site.”
