With over 100 years of experience, a presence in over 80 countries and more than 8,000 employees worldwide, ESAB is the world’s most recognised brand in welding and cutting and the company is proud to report expansion of its activities in Mexico with three main areas of growth. Supply Chain – In the last three years ESAB has improved its distribution structure in the country, going from nine poorly sited regional warehouses to four large distribution centers in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexicali. This has allowed the company to improve its service performance, reduce errors and still maintain a competitive geographical coverage of the Mexican market. A fifth distribution center is being considered for opening in 2012.
Customer Service – In September 2011 a new customer care center started operations in Monterrey. This new area will centralize all the service duties that are currently being carried out regionally, looking to improve and standardize the way services are provided to customers. Major investment has been made for communications and IT at the new center.
Product – In the 4th quarter of 2010, ESAB Mexico joined the global effort to re-launch the arc equipment product line. By the end of June 2011, this product line shows a 100% growth in a year and ESAB Mexico is quickly expanding its share in the market. Equipment sales in 2011 make up for 10% of the total ESAB Mexico sales and the goal is to reach 30% by 2013.
