The pump’s highly simplified differential hydraulic piston motor is designed without any metal components around a high performance spring made with VICTREX PEEK polymer. The spring’s superior function is due to the polymer’s excellent creep resistance, high yield strength and fatigue performance, even at high loads. With VICTREX PEEK polymer, the corrosion often associated with steel springs is no longer a problem due to the polymer’s high level of chemical resistance, even in aggressive environments. And, because of its excellent resistance to fluids such as acids and chlorine products, VICTREX PEEK polymer is enabling the pumps to be used in a wide variety of applications.
Installed directly in the water supply line, the Dosatron pump operates without electricity. Instead, it uses the flow of water as the power source. Inside the dosing unit, the required percentage of concentrate is mixed with water and the water pressure forces the solution downstream where it is pumped into a water pipe. The concentrate dose is directly proportional to the volume of water entering the Dosatron pump, regardless of variations in flow and pressure, which may occur in the water supply line.
Because the simplified motor has fewer parts (17 instead of 52) than previous Dosatron series, it offers improved reliability and longer life. It is easy to maintain and can be simply assembled or disassembled. With its excellent chemical resistance adding greater safety, plus the ease of use and maintenance, Dosatron D3 pumps deliver significantly higher performance when compared to previous series.
With the new design, the maximum water flow is increased to 3 m3/h (13.21 g/m), without increasing the frequency of cycles or pressure loss, while keeping the minimum flow at 10 l/h (2.64 g/h). The dosing rates of models currently available have been extended to 0.2-2%, 0.5-5% and 1-10%. Models with dosing rates of 0.05-0.5% and 5-25% will be available in the near future.
The injection settings cover injection rates of 0.005-500 l/h (0.001-132 g/h) with complete accuracy being maintained over the entire range. This increase in injection capacity also applies to intake suction of viscous products (powder solutions or liquids).
