  The creator of VERICUT, CGTech and MachiningCloud have together announced a VERICUT enhancement in MachiningCloud whereby VERICUT customers can import cutting parameters from cutting tool manufacturers from within MachiningCloud directly into VERICUT.

  The GEN3SYS XT Pro line of high penetration drilling products has been announced by Allied Machine and Engineering. The product line features enhanced holders and inserts with three unique geometries, and two advanced coatings.

  Machine tool manufacturer, DMG MORI has announced that grinding can be integrated into three sizes of five axis mill-turn centre in the company’s duoBLOCK FD series, the largest of which has 1,600x1,600x1,100mm linear axis travels.

  A new milling tool for manufacturing cyclo-palloid gears in the 0.5 to 30 module range based on the Klingelnberg design has been developed by HORN. The M279 milling system is intended for producing one-offs and small batches of components. The cut distribution of the 12-insert tool enables a high chip volume to be achieved with low cutting pressure.

At the Bolton factory of trailer manufacturer, Indespension, sheet metal cutting productivity has doubled following the replacement of a CO2 laser-powered machine with a fibre laser profiling centre costing nearly £800,000. Manufactured by Bystronic in Switzerland, it was delivered in December 2016 and, following training of Indespension’s shop floor staff, entered full production during the second week of January.
