CES’ Huntair division’s R&D Director, Larry Hopkins, adds, “The improvement we saw moving from NEMA Premium induction motors to NovaTorque’s PremiumPlus+ motor was more than three times the improvement we experienced moving from the Epact to the recent NEMA Premium standard induction motors. The efficiency we can now get from a 3hp NovaTorque motor rivals that of a 40hp Premium induction motor – making our FANWALL architecture even more compelling.”
Driven by variable frequency drives, NovaTorque PremiumPlus+ ECPM motors boast motor-only rated point efficiencies far exceeding the levels achieved with induction motors. Additionally, unlike induction motors, NovaTorque’s PremiumPlus+ ECPM motors maintain their high efficiency and high torque over a very broad speed and load range.
Graeme Moir, CES Group Strategic Sourcing Manager stated, “While NovaTorque’s performance advantages are clear, cost competitiveness is always a factor. NovaTorque’s innovative permanent magnet motor design can provide significant additional value at an affordable premium.”
“We are thrilled to add a company of the quality of CES to our customer base”, says Emily Liggett, CEO of NovaTorque. “They are clearly the leaders in their field.” She added, “They were also very thorough in their evaluation of the technology and our company. This is a major win for us and we look forward to serving them well.”
