NovaTorque has introduced 600 RPM versions of its PremiumPlus+ Electronically Commutated Permanent Magnet (ECPM) Motors. The new 600 RPM versions are currently available from 0.75 HP to 3 HP, with 5HP and 7.5HP models coming soon.  These versions are particularly well suited for directly driving larger diameter fans at low speeds, enabling the elimination of the costs, maintenance, and efficiency losses associated with belts and pulleys.

NovaTorque has introduced 900 RPM versions of its 1.5, 2, 3 and 5 hp models. The new models provide a full load motor-only efficiency rating of 92% to 94% compared to approximately 82% to 87% for conventional AC induction motor ratings. Additionally, NovaTorque motors maintain high efficiency under partial load (AC induction motors do not), making NovaTorque motors ideal for variable speed fan applications. The efficiency advantage of a 900 rpm NovaTorque motor versus an 8-pole 900 rpm AC induction motors can grow to 20 points or more at half-rated speed in such applications.  That’s a 67% reduction in motor losses (wasted energy).

NovaTorque announce a new partnership with the Electric Motor Repair Company. As an authorized NovaTorque Technology Center (NTC), Baltimore-based EMR will distribute the company’s high-efficiency permanent magnet motors to contractors, OEMs and end users in the Mid-Atlantic region. EMR will focus on retrofit applications, working closely with utilities and other customers to bring systems up to date and increase energy efficiency.   

NovaTorque's family of Gen2.0 PremiumPlus+ Electronically Commutated Permanent Magnet motors will soon be available in high speed 3hp and 5hp 2400 rpm (maximum speed 3600 rpm) models. Also available in 3hp and 5hp 1800 rpm models (maximum speed 2700 rpm), NovaTorque motors utilize low-cost ferrite magnets in an innovative flux-focusing design to deliver the superior efficiency of rare-earth permanent magnet motors at a price that is competitive with induction motors.
