Compact New 24 Volt DC Gearmotor Develops 214 LB-IN. Torque at 10.3 RPM

Compact New 24 Volt DC Gearmotor Develops 214 LB-IN. Torque at 10.3 RPM
Midwest Motion Products is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear Motor, with Integral Brake, the Model No. MMP-D22-376H-24V GP52-195 BR-005-IP54. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust, „SEALED‟ DC Gear Motor / Brake measures just 2.25” (max) Diameter, by 9.0” long, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 “face mount” M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm Dia. B.C. The output of this reversible gearmotor is rated for 214 IN LBS of continuous torque, at 10.3 RPM, and 443 IN LBS Peak. Despite its compact size, and weight of approximately 5 pounds, it‟s an efficient design, requiring just 1.75 Amps at 24 Volts DC to generate its Full Load Torque. That translates into long life battery charge, very LOW NOISE operation, and lower cost drive electronics. Motor windings for 12v, 28v 36v, 48v, 60v & 90 Volts are available. This unit features a TOTALLY ENCLOSED integral FAILSAFE

VLT® Low Harmonic Drive from Danfoss Drives Named 2010 Design News Golden Mousetrap Finalist

VLT® Low Harmonic Drive from Danfoss Drives Named 2010 Design News Golden Mousetrap Finalist
VLT® Low Harmonic Drives from Danfoss Drives have been named a 2010 Design News Golden Mousetrap Award Finalist in the Motion Control/Automation category. VLT Low Harmonic Drives don’t merely reduce or mask current distortion; they attack it at the source by performing real time analysis and actively imposing currents, as needed, to restore and ensure the highest possible quality sine waves from the power supply grid. They also feature a modular design that facilitates large scale and cost effective production, and since most VLT Low Harmonic Drives are individually configured according to the customer’s specific needs, they deliver the value of a highly customized quality drive for the price of a mass produced unit.

New Scale Technologies introduces “mechatronics on a fingertip” with high resolution, low power use

New Scale Technologies introduces “mechatronics on a fingertip” with high resolution, low power use
New Scale Technologies today announced its M3 (Micro-Mechatronic Module) Design Platform for rapid development of custom closed-loop micro actuator modules. Building on the company’s miniature SQUIGGLE motor and TRACKER position sensor technology, this design platform yields a complete closed-loop actuator on a printed circuit board of 12 x 30 mm or less. Modules have low power consumption and 3.3V input voltage for battery-powered operation. No external control board is necessary; simple serial commands drive an on-board PID controller using a standard I2C, SPI or USART interface.
