New fanless panel PC uses Core 2 Duo processor

Applications requiring top level processor performance from a feature rich panel PC, will be satisfied by the new APC-3x17 from Datasound Laboratories.

This Core 2 Duo-based computer which supports fanless operation and PCI expansion, offers customers the option of 15, 17, or 19-inch touschscreen displays and includes a 2.5-inch hard drive bay. Designed for Windows XP, XP Embedded (XPe) or Vista operating systems the system also integrates 2 x gigabit Ethernet ports for high speed networked applications.

Using Intel's T5450 or T5550 Core 2 Duo processors providing 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz speeds coupled with up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, the power of the APC-3x17 needs good thermal management which is provided by the use of a heat pipe, which channels heat to the rear of the device, which acts as a large heat sink.

The APC-3x17 has a VGA port for an external monitor, three serial ports, four USB ports, and two PS/2 connectors for a keyboard and a mouse. Microphone-in, line-in, and line-out audio jacks are also provided.

The RoHS-compliant APC-3x17 has a front bezel that meets the IP65 standard for resistance to dust and liquids and has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 deg.C
