The SITOP SU8200 contributes toward high system availability by supplying up to three times the rated current for 25 minutes, or 1.5 times the rated current for five seconds per minute in the event of a short term overload.

Siemens has purchased the very first MaXccess system to improve the safe transfer of service specialists onto offshore wind turbines. MaXccess was designed by OSBIT Power Ltd and has been tested by a strategic alliance of Siemens, OSBIT Power, Statoil and Fred Olsen Windcarrier to establish the effectiveness of the design.

Siemens awards offshore substation structure contract to Belfast based Harland & Wolff

Siemens has announced that it has awarded a contract for two offshore substation structures for one of the largest wind farm developments in the UK to Belfast yard Harland and Wolff (H&W). To date Siemens has used British yards for all six of its offshore substations for the UK. This latest win for H&W will further help to develop the UK supply chain, create jobs and stimulate the local economy. The substation structures form part of Siemens’ contract to design and build the onshore and offshore substations for the 576MW Gwynt y Môr (GYM) offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay.
