A significant long term service agreement has been awarded to Siemens Energy Service Fossil by Barking Power Ltd, one of largest independently owned generating plants in the UK. The new four-year exclusive agreement for the maintenance and service of the non-OEM steam turbines and generators demonstrates the cost effectiveness and value of our proposition and the strength of our customer relationship.

Barking Power Station, based in Dagenham, Essex is operated and managed by Thames Power Services. The station is capable of generating up to 1,000MW and uses Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology George Opocensky, General Manager at the Barking Power station said; “We needed a partner that could meet our criteria for cost effectiveness and high quality of service and safety. Siemens was able to demonstrate that, and its willingness to work with us in addressing service issues.”

Carl Ennis, Divisional Managing Director, Siemens Energy Service Fossil said; “We pride ourselves on the level of service we offer on site and our focus upon safety. We are delighted the customer has seen value in this and has awarded this contract which helps cement our relationship and also confirms our lead position in the turbine service market.”

The new contract will provide quality work for Siemens’ Field Service and Machine Dynamics, as well as additional work for the Newcastle facility.
