Renishaw's AxiSet Check-Up is a cost-effective solution for checking the alignment and positioning performance of rotary axes. In just a few minutes, users of five-axis machining centres and multi-tasking mill-turn machines can identify and report on poor machine alignments and geometry that can cause extended process setting times, as well as non-conforming parts. The latest release is now available, offering significant new benefits to users.

Renishaw SLM is a pioneering additive manufacturing process capable of producing fully dense metal parts direct from 3D CAD using a high-powered fibre laser. Parts are built from a range of fine metal powders that are fully melted in a tightly controlled atmosphere layer by layer in thicknesses ranging from 20 to 100 microns.

Renishaw, the global engineering technologies company, is announcing more new products that will be demonstrated at the EMO Hannover exhibition taking place in Germany, from 19th - 24th September. These include touch probes and software systems that will aid process control on CNC machine tools and a new surface finish measurement probe for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

The Nordic office of Renishaw plc, global specialists in industrial metrology and precision healthcare solutions, has announced the appointment of Martin Wadman as a System Support Engineer for its rapidly expanding dental business. Wadman has more than 15 years experience in the dental industry with Nobel Biocare, and in his new role at Renishaw AB, in Järfälla, near Stockholm, Sweden, he will be responsible for helping to support the company’s growing base of dental CAD/CAM products.

Laser Design Inc. announced that it is now reselling Renishaw metrology probes and machine tooling, plus professional “Repair by Exchange,” and also used equipment. Renishaw products lead the industrial metrology market in accuracy and selection.

At the IMTEX exhibition taking place in Bangalore, India, from 20th to 26th January 2011, Renishaw will highlight a range of process control solutions that help tackle the increasing drive to lean manufacturing, from new technologies for pre-process machine calibration, to on-line and off-line post-process measurement.

Renishaw’s wide range of measurement products help manufacturers gain more throughput from existing assets, increase machine automation, reduce manual intervention, reduce rework, concessions and scrap, and increase machine capabilities.

The largest business employer in Gloucestershire, UK, Renishaw plc, has agreed to donate £15,000 over a two-year period to Gloucester Rugby’s Playing for Success scheme which provides out of school educational activities for 9 to 13 year old children. The funding has been provided by the company’s UK Charities Committee which supports charities and voluntary organisations throughout the Gloucestershire and Bristol region.

Ballbar 20 (V5.09.04) is the current software shipped with all Renishaw’s QC20-W ballbar kits, allowing fast machine tool performance testing and analysis. It is also compatible with QC10 ballbars (when used with suitable PC operating system software) so users can run a single software programme even if they use both QC10 and QC20-W ballbars. This latest version has been enhanced to give even greater flexibility for testing and reporting.

At Vacuum Expo, taking place at the International Centre, Telford, UK, from 3rd to 4th November, Renishaw will focus on its position feedback encoders specifically designed for use in ultra-high vacuum conditions.

Renishaw, a world leader in the fields of metrology and spectroscopy, has announced the opening of new branch offices in the cities of Suzhou and Xi’an to give local support to its rapidly expanding customer base. The offices, which will be managed by the company’s wholly owned Chinese trading subsidiary Renishaw Shanghai (Trading) Co Ltd, are part of Renishaw’s ongoing investment in China where it now has operations in eight different cities.

Renishaw’s new PH20 five-axis head for touch-trigger measurement on co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs) has won the MM Award for ‘Most Innovative Measurement System’ at the AMB 2010 exhibition held in Stuttgart, Germany. The MM Awards are presented by the leading German trade magazine MM Maschinenmarkt and entries for the nine categories of award are open to any of the 1,100 exhibitors participating at AMB, which is Germany’s leading national exhibition for the metalworking industry

Consistent with the momentum highlighted at the time of our final results for the year to 30th June, 2010, trading in the first two months of the new financial year has been very positive. We have seen strong demand for our metrology products across all our main geographies, particularly in Japan and the rest of Asia, where sales have been running at approximately double last year's levels for the same period. Group revenue in July and August has been approximately £20 million per month and the order book currently stands at approximately £25 million. Order visibility remains at around 4 to 5 weeks' sales.

Renishaw is focusing on measurement, calibration and motion control at TCT Live, with live demonstrations of its new award winning PH20 five-axis probe head for CMMs, a new wireless system for assessing machine tool positioning performance, plus high resolution incremental and absolute encoders for precision motion system manufacturers. There will also be displays of Renishaw’s machine tool probe systems that improve process control for machining operations and the opportunity to discuss the company’s award winning CMM retrofit service.
