Renishaw is pleased to lend its support to a newly-published employers' guide to work experience in the UK engineering sector, produced by the subgroup of the Royal Academy of Engineering's Diversity Leadership Group. 

Renishaw recently broke ground on its new 133,000 sq. ft. office and warehouse facility in West Dundee, IL, about 40 miles from Chicago. The two-storey facility will be located at the Oakview Business Park and will be the company’s North American headquarters. The new building, slated for completion in June 2016, will also include space for product development, testing, warehousing and distribution. 

A UK-based Renishaw apprentice was “shocked” after he and a colleague won four awards between them at the Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET) awards at Gloucester Rugby Club on Friday 31st July 2015. 

Renishaw will be exhibiting its range of advanced engineering technologies at the SPE Offshore Exhibition in Aberdeen, UK, from 8 to 11 September 2015 on stand 4B158. 

Renishaw is pleased to announce the creation of Renishaw Tehnični Inženiring d.o.o., a new research and development organisation which is located within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The new facility was formally opened on June 16th by Sir David McMurtry, Renishaw's Chairman and Chief Executive, who co-founded the company in 1973.  

Six school students are having a behind-the-scenes tour of the engineering world this week, after being chosen for the weeklong Renishaw Engineering Experience from 29th June – 3rd July. The annual competition gives 16 and 17 year olds from across the UK an all-expenses-paid opportunity to spend a week visiting industry leading engineering companies in the UK. 

BOURBON, which operates a global fleet of over 500 offshore support vessels for the oil and gas industry, has a policy to use laser position reference sensors as a key part of its programme to ensure the safety of operations and enhance the reliability of vessels. After a successful trial of a Fanbeam 5 system on one of BOURBON's Liberty series vessels in West Africa, the decision was taken to proceed with Renishaw as the sole supplier for both existing vessel DP upgrades and new-build vessels entering its fleet over the term of the agreement. 

Graduates have again voted Renishaw one of the top three companies to work for in the engineering and manufacturing industry, in tables recently published by leading graduate jobs website The JobCrowd.  

An award-winning young female engineer from the West Country is calling on her fellow female engineers to follow in her footsteps and enter a prestigious engineering award.  

Renishaw is pleased to announce that a neuromate frameless Gen II stereotactic robotic system has been installed, at the neurosurgery department of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. This is the first installation of neuromate frameless Gen II in the USA.

When approaching a component part in this way, the end goal is to remove superfluous material in areas of low stress whilst maintaining structural integrity of the whole; the lighter and stronger the better. The ss Great Britain Trust has announced that innovative engineering company and long-standing supporter Renishaw, is the very first Being Brunel Corporate Founder.  

The Additive Manufacturing Products Division of Renishaw is reaping the benefits of the company's specialised internal training scheme, called the Applications Academy. Divisions of the global engineering firm are snapping up programme graduates as fast as they can complete the intense training.

The skills gap in UK engineering has taught us a valuable lesson: there is no such thing as quick fix. British engineering will only progress through sustained collaborative efforts, consistency and a cultural shift.   

Lucy Ackland, a project manager working on Renishaw's next generation metal 3D printing machine, was awarded the Women's Engineering Society (WES) Prize at the IET's Young Woman Engineer of the Year awards ceremony held in London, UK, during December. 

Rhydian Pountney, Renishaw's General Manager – ROW Sales Division, will co-chair the Technology Collaborations in Advanced Engineering Working Group of the annual India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) which takes place in London on 19th January. The meeting is part of a wider JETCO gathering that will be jointly chaired by Dr Vince Cable, UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry Nirmala Sitharaman. 

Renishaw will be exhibiting a range of metrology and additive manufacturing (metal 3D printing) products at Southern Manufacturing 2015, from 10 – 12 February, at FIVE in Farnborough, UK.

Instron is a global market leader in the materials testing industry. It manufactures and services a comprehensive range of materials testing equipment and accessories for the research, industrial and academic sectors. A variety of Instron systems test samples ranging from components for jet engines to medical syringes.

Renishaw will exhibit its latest range of additive-manufacturing machines and precision metrology systems at Euromold 2014. The world fair for moldmaking and tooling, design and application development will take place on November 25-28, at the exhibition centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Renishaw can be found in hall 11.0, on stand E128. The company’s products and technology will also be featured in several supporting stands.

Adding laser melting to it’s additive manufacturing research and development technologies, Cardiff University has invested in a Renishaw AM250 machine. With this addition, the university’s Additive Laboratories at it’s School of Engineering have adopted a more holistic approach to manufacturing.
