Renishaw Inc. breaks ground on new office and product testing facility near Chicago
Renishaw recently broke ground on its new 133,000 sq. ft. office and warehouse facility in West Dundee, IL, about 40 miles from Chicago. The two-storey facility will be located at the Oakview Business Park and will be the company’s North American headquarters. The new building, slated for completion in June 2016, will also include space for product development, testing, warehousing and distribution.

Renishaw opens new Slovenian research facility at the University of Ljubljana

Renishaw is pleased to announce the creation of Renishaw Tehnični Inženiring d.o.o., a new research and development organisation which is located within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The new facility was formally opened on June 16th by Sir David McMurtry, Renishaw's Chairman and Chief Executive, who co-founded the company in 1973.

School students chosen in annual engineering tour

Six school students are having a behind-the-scenes tour of the engineering world this week, after being chosen for the weeklong Renishaw Engineering Experience from 29th June – 3rd July. The annual competition gives 16 and 17 year olds from across the UK an all-expenses-paid opportunity to spend a week visiting industry leading engineering companies in the UK.

BOURBON selects Renishaw as part of fleet standardisation strategy

BOURBON, which operates a global fleet of over 500 offshore support vessels for the oil and gas industry, has a policy to use laser position reference sensors as a key part of its programme to ensure the safety of operations and enhance the reliability of vessels. After a successful trial of a Fanbeam 5 system on one of BOURBON's Liberty series vessels in West Africa, the decision was taken to proceed with Renishaw as the sole supplier for both existing vessel DP upgrades and new-build vessels entering its fleet over the term of the agreement.

Adding laser melting to it’s additive manufacturing research and development technologies, Cardiff University has invested in a Renishaw AM250 machine. With this addition, the university’s Additive Laboratories at it’s School of Engineering have adopted a more holistic approach to manufacturing.
