It has been announced that Optimas Components is offering increased options for end users requiring adhesive bonded fasteners, with the addition of the Spida Fixings Spida Stud to its component range. Suited for utilisation in aerospace, automotive and marine applications, the Spida Stud offers increased strength and improved adhesion properties to aim to provide a reliable lightweight bonded fastener.

As a global industrial distributor and service provider for fasteners, Optimas Solutions always looks to supply genuine, high performance parts to support the manufacturing requirements of its customers. As a part of this philosophy, Optimas holds Research Engineer and Manufacturing (REMINC) TRILOBULAR and REMFORM components manufacturing licences for its Barton manufacturing facility in the UK and its Wood Dale location in the US.

As it works on an already extensive range of Wiska electrical protection solutions, Optimas’ Components Division is now offering the Wiska S Box Lever Terminal Block. The lever style connectors are designed for simple wire termination. For applications that require IP68 protection, the Shell Box - a gel filled enclosure – is available for fast housing.

The mass of commonly used components such as fasteners, fittings, and gaskets are often required when manufacturing large complex products like an industrial generator. To keep production costs low, engineering teams are challenged to not only minimise the total number of parts needed but also maximise the reuse of existing components from their extensive part libraries to keep the number of new components low. Customers are now being offered a new method to receive small volume parts with greater expediency than normally possible, from Optimas Solutions. This service has been enabled by the installation of a Takamaz XY120 Plus CNC lathe, which can quickly mill a range of parts in quantities up to 5000 pieces.

  Due to customer demand, Optimas has extended its range of TST Snap-In protection grommets to further service end user applications. The demand highlighted the need for increased versatility from the range. End users of these innovative cable entry solutions will now be able to benefit from specialised flame resistant and multi-cable entry protection options.

The VDA 6.2 accreditation has been awarded to the Optimas facility in Bredbury, UK, in acknowledgement of its high quality standards and commitment to continuous improvement. This forms part of a growing network of Optimas facilities that carry the accreditation in Europe and Asia. As a key supplier to many prestigious automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and tier 1 suppliers, this demonstrates the commitment that Optimas has made to the industry and its customers.

Announcing its on-going support for the Jaguar Land Rover ‘Ride and Drive Event’, Optimas Solutions attended the event, which each year raises money for the NSPCC. Optimas operates as a full service provider of fastener and C-Class components for JLR production sites across the UK – as well as numerous tier 1 suppliers to the automotive giant. The prestigious event, which this year was held over the weekend of the 20th/21st May, raised over £24,000 for the worthy cause.
