At Underhåll 2018, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is presenting intelligent solutions for production and maintenance, as well as innovative new products. Among other things, NORD has extended its MAXXDRIVETM industrial gear series with two new sizes.

A full version product configuration and project management tool has been released by NORD Drivesystems as the myNORD Customer Portal, which is for UK customers and includes pricing, order processing and multiple user access. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS´ myNORD Customer Portal is now fully available to UK users online, and for non-registered customers, the portal allows use of the NORD Product Configurator - the comprehensive product sizing and configuration tool for geared motors, motors and drive electronics.

  Cost-efficient and reliable virtual sensor functions for condition monitoring have been developed by NORD DRIVESYSTEMS. In applications with steady long-term load profiles, the drive PLC determines the best oil change interval without costly sensors.

Showcasing innovations in drive electronics at the 2017 SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nuremberg, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will be found in hall 3 stand 218. The new NORDAC LINK series of field distribution systems, designed for networked intralogistics facilities with many drive axes, provides an especially good user experience.

  At the 2017 LogiMAT China exhibition, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS showcased a user-friendly drive electronics innovation - NORDAC LINK field distribution systems, available as frequency inverters and motor starters for interconnected conveyor systems.

Designed specifically for intralogistics and baggage handling systems, the new LogiDrive standardised AC vector drives from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS facilitate planning, configuration, and spare part management through a project-based reduction of variant complexity. LogiDrive units save operating expenses as well as costs for stocking spare parts.

The recently introduced NORDAC LINK series of field distribution systems will soon be further supplemented by frequency inverters for motors rated up to 7.5kW. Aiming for September 2017, these additions will mean the new series from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will then comprise a comprehensive line-up of drive solutions specifically tailored to networked conveyor systems with many drive axes.

Now providing extruder flanges optimised for heavy duty operation, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has added an all new-supplement to its modular industrial gear range. Several different extrusion flanges are available for each of the industrial gear units from size 5-11, with rated torques from 15-80kNm. Almost all usual dimensions can be adapted. Extra-large thrust bearings ensure that all process forces are absorbed and provide enhanced durability for long lifespans.

Starting in the new year, IE3-grade energy efficiency will be compulsory in the European Union for mains-operated electric motors in the rated power range from 0.75-375kW. This extension smaller motor sizes is based on the Regulation (EC) 640/2009 implementing Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC.

NORD frequency inverters now provide safe functions for drive axes according to SIL3 and Performance Level e (category 4) in PROFINET environments with a safety controller. A new PROFIsafe interface module connects up to four AC vector drives with a safe PLC. The optional module can integrate safe input and output signals such as for emergency stop buttons and light barriers.
