Tough Tracker was established to counter a problem in the scrap metal market – of not knowing where scrap bins (skips, etc.) are located if they get lost or stolen. Electronic tracking devices need to be both robust and with good battery life. The Tough Tracker solution was developed with a high tech composite casing (Formula 1 grade, stronger than steel) with a combination of a GPS satellite positioning system (the same GPS as used in spacecraft and aeronautics), quad band GSM transmitter with cell location function, anti-jamming technology and a 3-axis accelerometer for ultra-sensitive motion detection.

Intertronics’ introduction of the new Liquidyn P-Jet CT Jetting Valve brings to manufacturers the capability for high performance micro-dispensing of materials such as oils, greases, adhesives, silicones, paints, flux, pharmaceutical media and other chemicals, including filled fluids. Its speed and accuracy is expected to be valuable in the electronics, solar, automotive, packaging and medical device industries, amongst others.

New from Intertronics comes Polytec EC 275 which further extends their portfolio of specialist high performance conductive adhesives. Polytec EC 275 has innovative specialist fillers which deliver excellent electrical conductivity (1x 10-3 – 7.5x10-4 Ω-cm) within a low cost, two component formulation for applications in electronics, micro-electronics, opto-electronics, hybrids and sensor technology.

Intertronics, together with their sales partners Liquidyn, are now addressing those applications where very precise non-contact micro dot dispensing is required, in the range of 3 – 200 nl, e.g. for oil, grease, adhesive, silicone, paint, flux, medical products, and many other materials typically used in electronics, automotive, packaging, medical, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries – even filled materials.

Intertronics are delighted to announce availability of Polytec PU 1000, an electrically conductive polyurethane which addresses applications in die attach, bonding of components in hybrid circuit applications and surface mount technology; areas where silver filled electrically conductive adhesives have been used for many decades.

This year at Med-Tech Innovation Expo, 10-11 April 2013 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry - on stand 6 - Intertronics will be focusing on adhesives and adhesive systems for medical device manufacture - how to address issues such as biocompatibility, process validation, structural integrity and production simplicity in the bonding of plastics, metals, ceramics and other substrates commonly used in this arena.

New from Intertronics comes the Polytec PT range of state-of-the-art polyimide adhesives. These polyimide-based chemistries provide excellent thermal resistance, superior to other typical organic adhesives. They are characterised as modified polyimide single component, solvent containing adhesives and coatings which are applicable in the temperature range from 240°C to 500°C.

The new Thinky ARE-930 Twin mixer launched by Intertronics offers twin planetary mixing capacity with vacuum degassing to submicron level, enabling one litre processing with complete elimination of bubbles.

Following the growth trend in use of UV/visible light curable masking resins, Intertronics are pleased to launch SpeedMask 726-SC from DYMAX. This masking agent is formulated to provide excellent surface protection of turbine engine components, orthopaedic implants, and metal components during plating, plasma spray grit, blasting, anodising, decorative etching and powder-coating processes.

New from Intertronics comes perhaps the most sophisticated gasketing resin yet – the DYMAX GA-140-SC – a UV/visible light curable Form in Place and Cure in Place material with the benefit of See-Cure technology which exhibits blue to clear colour change on curing. The GA-140-SC is ideal for applications which require soft, tack-free, low outgassing, flexible gaskets for sealing of fuel cells, vehicle door handles, appliance housings, critical electronic assemblies such as LCD frames and for plastic assemblies.

A quick and simple solution was required to provide added security for one of Ford Components Manufacturing Ltd’s laminated metal shim pack products. Known as edgepeel, the pack provides a number of shims, to specific customer requirements, that can be quickly and easily selected at the point of assembly thus speeding up production.

It has been found that traditional hand mixing of 2-part epoxies – especially in cases of extreme viscosity difference – can result in the inclusion of substantial quantities of air bubbles, as well as much mess and waste.

As part of their development process STOPFREEZE were looking for a superior way of protecting their in-line thermostat from water ingress and physical damage in its outdoor situation. The new DYMAX BlueWave LED DX-1000 is a unique and flexible 385 nm LED curing system that can be configured to operate as either a small-area flood or spot-cure system. In flood mode, up to 1 W/cm2 can be delivered over a 1” x 1” (2.5cm x 2.5cm) area. In spot mode, a single or multi-pole lightguide can be installed into an optional adapter to deliver up to 15 W/cm2 in a high-intensity spot.
