This coming April, the eighth consecutive Engineer Powerwoman award will be presented by Deutsche Messe. The award is worth €5,000 and will go to a woman whose outstanding commitment, ideas and/or technical prowess have made a major contribution to advancing her employer’s organisation. Nominations are being accepted from companies and organisations based in Germany and abroad, with only one nominee allowed per company. The deadline for applications is 11th February 2020.

The launch of Industrial Transformation MEXICO, a HANNOVER MESSE Event, has been announced by Deutsche Messe. Scheduled for 9th to 11th October 2019 at the Poliforum León convention and exhibition centre in León, the tradeshow and conference is the next step in Deutsche Messe’s globalisation of the HANNOVER MESSE brand.

This year will see Deutsche Messe again presenting the Engineer Powerwoman career achievement award during the WoMenPower congress at HANNOVER MESSE (in Hannover, Germany). It will be the sixth time that Deutsche Messe has presented the award. Each year, the award honours a woman who has made a mark or played a key role in innovation within an organisation through her dedication, ideas or work in the fields of science, technology, IT, engineering or mathematics.

The interplay between automation and energy technology, IT platforms and artificial intelligence is driving the digital transformation of industry. With the lead theme ‘Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate’, HANNOVER MESSE 2018 spotlights the potential of this development.

  HANNOVER MESSE 2017 marked the fifth time that Deutsche Messe has presented the coveted Engineer Powerwoman award to a female STEM professional for her initiative, ideas and dedication in promoting innovative technologies in her company or organisation. 

This year’s HANNOVER MESSE had the clear objective, to make the benefits of digitalisation tangible, and after five action-packed days at the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, the organisers spoke about the thriving event. A large number of solution-seekers gathered in Hannover to immerse themselves in the potential of intelligent robots, adaptive machines and integrated energy systems, taking attendance to new heights.

There has been a lot going on at HANNOVER MESSE this week, and it has recently been announced that the winner of the Robotics Award 2017 is fleXstructures, a company founded back in 2011. The joint prize from the organisers of HANNOVER MESSE and the Konradin-Verlag publishing house, was given at the official ceremony held on Tuesday 25th, and the CEO of fleXstructures, Oliver Hermanns was delighted to receive the prize in honor of its ‘IPS ROBOT OPTIMIZATION’ software solution.

Sometimes cobots are treated like humans; well this is certainly the case at the ‘Robozän’ temp agency, which actually leases robots to companies at just minimum wage. Designed to make our work easier, Cobots can execute monotonous or particularly hazardous tasks reliably and without complaint.

Let’s combine the ideas, robots that build other robots, machines that learn from their mistakes, energy systems that manage themselves, and involve a large amount of people and we have this year’s HANNOVER MESSE. It maybe the age of Industry 4.0 and ubiquitous digitalisation, but humans are now more central to the innovations on show at the world’s leading industrial technology fair than they have ever been before.

The slogan that is the centre at this year’s HANNOVER MESSE, ‘Logistics 4.0 Meets Industry 4.0’ will see many specialists discussing topics around this, from 24th-28th April, there will be talks, presentations and panel discussions highlighting the role of intralogistics in the industrial supply chain.

If you are looking for innovation in industry, there will be a lot of inspiration at this year’s HANNOVER MESSE taking place 24th-28th April, with 150 startups exhibiting at Young Tech Enterprises in Hall 3. With fast and crisp 3D scans, surface coating via flamethrower, wireless and mobile monitoring, or online sourcing, the Fraunhofer Venture, the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) and the Leibniz Association will also be present with select spin-offs and research projects, while Ernst & Young, Siemens and Partner Country Poland organise group exhibits.

  One of the leading trade fairs for machinery, plant and tools for the woodworking and timber processing industries, LIGNA opens in just a few weeks. Taking place over five days; 22nd-26th May the show expects to see 1,500 exhibitors from 49 nations that will be presents a wealth of new and exciting innovations.

Industry 4.0 is increasingly blurring the lines between the various sectors of industry, while innovation cycles continue to get shorter. These are trends that manufacturers around the world cannot afford to ignore, no matter how large or small. HANNOVER MESSE, too, is adapting to this new reality. Up to now, transmission and fluid power technologies have been featured at the fair on a biennial basis. “But the marketplace has changed,” reported Deutsche Messe Managing Board member Dr. Jochen Köckler.  

Showcasing for the first time at a HANNOVER MESSE’s Research and Technology sector, the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel (CAU) will be appearing from the 24th-28th April in Hannover. CAU’s diverse programme features exhibits, a patent exchange and startup pitches as well as podium discussions about knowledge transfer, patents and entrepreneurial initiatives.

  With just ten minutes to sell an idea, to engage with their audiences and win over supporters, it sounds like the Young Tech Enterprises companies who are appearing at HANNOVER MESSE are in for a challenge.

Two partnerships have been finalised by Deutsche Messe AG, to expand the portfolio of HANNOVER MESSE events in North America. From 25th-28th September 2017, Deutsche Messe will co-locate five trade fairs – Industrial Automation CANADA, MDA–Motion, Drive & Automation CANADA, ComVac CANADA, parts2clean CANADA, and CeMAT CANADA – with the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS).

Each year there is a message to be taken away from HANNOVER MESSE, with last year’s being: integrated industry has well and truly reached the mainstream. To back this up, the how featured over 400 application examples of fully digitalised processes for the manufacturing and energy industries. The fourth industrial revolution, it seems, is well underway. 

As former US President Barack Obama described it, HANNOVER MESSE is ‘the world’s leading show for industrial technology.’ German Chancellor Angela Merkel would agree with this as she commented: “It is the biggest industrial show of all.” HANNOVER MESSE 2017, taking place 24th–28th April, in Hannover, Germany will unite seven trade fairs at the Hannover Exhibition Center: Industrial Automation, MDA–Motion, Drive & Automation, Digital Factory, Energy, ComVac, Industrial Supply, and Research & Technology.

Frequently associated withfounders in the IT industry, is the word ‘startup’, and this year at HANNOVER MESSE scheduled to take place 24th-28th April in Hannover, visitors can encounter other examples: a conveyor-chain cleaner that can be used without interrupting plant operations; a solar-powered water purifier; an electric scooter with portable batteries; and wind turbine rotors made of thermoplastic.

  It is the 70th anniversary of HANNOVER MESSE, this year and it is taking place 24th-28th April in Hannover, Germany. The event will be running under the keynote theme of ‘Integrated Industry – Creating Value’, and the Partner Country 2017 will be Poland.
