Steely performance by Carter’s Cooling Tower in abrasive application
Ervin Amasteel have invested in a new Forced Draught Counterflow Cooling Tower, designed and manufactured by Carter Environmental Engineers.
Founded by John F. Ervin 1920, in Adrian, Michigan, Black Country-based Ervin Amasteel chose Carter’s Sandringham design to replace its outdated cooling tower. Located on both the side of the tower and at low level, Carter’s Sandringham incorporates a direct drive axial fanset, covering water flow rates from 6m3/hr to 600m3/hr.

Stephen O’Connor, Engineer Manager at Ervin Amasteel commented: “From the beginning of our contract discussions with Carter, right through to the commissioning, we have received a first class service”.

“We received cheaper quotes but quality of product and service really counts,” he added. “The sale, contracting and production dialogue we had with Carter was second to none; right down to the helpfulness of the lorry driver when the tower was delivered. Ervin became N°1 by supplying an uncompromising, superior quality, and we are happy to work with a company that has the same values for its customers”.

Designed with a multi-sloping ‘ERS’ Base Tank and Bottom Located Drain, this proven cooling tower from Carter is also supplied with a Removable Pack Access Door and Ultra High efficiency interlocking drift eliminators.
