UK yeast producer, Lallemand GB, is predicting to reduce its annual energy bills by 25% as a result of adopting the technology of rotary screw blowers from Atlas Copco, who are providing a highly reliable source of vital process air. Lallemand GB is the UK operation of Lallemand, a Canadian company specialising in the research, development, production and distribution of commercial yeast and bacteria. 

  Three models have been added to Atlas Copco’s range of oil-injected rotary screw compressors. These give larger industrial air users a 20% average improvement in free air delivery and energy savings of up to 35%.

Engineers at Siemens Subsea can now access their new large size ‘testing’ autoclave quickly and safely with the use of a bespoke Multi-Stud Bolt Tensioning Tool (MST), thanks to the engineering expertise at the Atlas Copco Bolt Tightening Solutions.

Atlas Copco Compressors has launched a new range of its popular GA 15-26 kW oil-injected screw compressors offering improved performance, reduced power consumption and lower noise levels. The redesigned range, which has been extended up to 26 kW, is built to be economical, reliable and efficient. Compared to the previous GA 15-22 range, the new GA 15-26 models offer increased performance (Free Air Delivery up by 5%) and lower power consumption (Specific Energy Requirement down by 2%).

Atlas Copco is now offering on-the-spot oil contamination testing to compressed air users in the UK with the launch of its new O-Box indicator system. The company’s sales engineers are able to quickly measure the oil content of an operator’s compressed air network and submit the results in a report within three minutes on site.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of its VSD compressors, Atlas Copco have claimed that the compressors have saved the UK 240m kWh of electricity since their introduction. The figure, based on a comparison with conventional fixed speed compressors, represents sufficient electricity to supply all of the households in the city of Cambridge for a year, and in terms of carbon emissions is equivalent to taking 42,460 cars off the road for a year.

Atlas Copco Compressors will exhibit its latest compressor ranges at Northern Manufacturing & Electronics 2014. On stand A45 the company will display a range of products including the GA90+-160 range and the energy-efficient VSD+ compressors. Visitors will be able to hear how the GA 90+-160 range of oil-injected rotary screw compressors offer increased productivity levels and reduced operating costs.

Offering improved performance and a smaller footprint, a re-design of Atlas Copco's energy recovery units for its GA compressors has been announced. The stand-alone, retrofit energy recovery units recover up to 94% of thermal energy to heat water up to 90°C for a number of process and domestic applications such as showers or central heating. 

The development of an in-house designed inverter drive, called Neos, has been announced by Atlas Copco. The first in-house designed inverter drive from Altlas Copco, all of the company’s GA 37-90 VSD compressors will be equipped with the new Neos inverter units. They will also be available as spare parts for retrofitting existing GA models in the field.

Boasting near silent operation, Atlas Copco's SF range of compressors has been expanded with the introduction of the SF Mono 1-6 and SF+ 2-6  ranges. Providing 100% oil-free air, the SF Mono 1-6 and SF+ 2-6  ranges are complete compressor packages that unite the element, drive motor, aftercooler and starter in a super silent acoustic enclosure.

A range of oil-injected rotary screw compressors, designated the GA 90+-160 series, has been introduced by Atlas Copco. Offering increased productivity levels and reduced operating costs, the company claims that the enhanced design of the packaging improves performance by up to 5% and provides for increased availability and durability compared with the previous generation. 

At RWM 2014, Atlas Copco Compressors will be showcasing its full array of energy-efficient compressed air solutions, including the company’s compact GA VSD+ compressor. Launched in 2013, GA VSD+ compressors provide industry-leading energy savings of 50% on average, a 13% leap in Free Air Delivery and a canopy less than half the size of traditional fixed speed compressors.

Atlas Copco Compressors has launched the biggest innovation in small compressor technology in 20 years. The new GA 7-15 kW VSD+ compressor range gives users energy savings of up to 50% compared to traditional fixed speed compressors.

Atlas Copco Compressors has announced the appointment of Nigel Broxton as its Quality, Safety, Health and Environment manager in the UK. His dedicated aim is “to assist the business to achieve all quality and performance standards particularly in the fields of energy management and environmental impact.”

Atlas Copco Compressors’ newly re-furbished compressor room at its GB headquarters in Hemel Hempstead is using the company’s own energy-efficient technology and monitoring services to improve performance, make savings and reduce its carbon footprint.

FCC Environment is using the latest energy-efficient compressor and filtration solutions from Atlas Copco to help turn waste into energy at its Nottingham waste processing site. The energy from the company’s commercial and domestic waste processing facility in Nottingham produces heat and steam to generate power without using fossil fuels. Since the facility opened 39 years ago, it has reduced the amount of Nottinghamshire’s waste going to landfill sites by 5 million tonnes.

When Kolak Snack Foods Ltd experienced a business upturn and required increased output capacity at its manufacturing plant in London, it decided to upgrade its production equipment, including its compressors.
