An order for around $30m from the Dutch-German transmission system operator, TenneT has been given to ABB to supply a stabilisation solution that will enhance the reliability and quality of power as the grid absorbs more renewable energy. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2017.

Compressor package slashes manufacturer's energy costs
Within the wind energy sector a leading manufacturer of drive train technology, is saving almost £44,000 a year thanks to the installation of a BOGE compressor and pipework. The customer’s 110kW compressor was predominantly used in air beds for lifting and shifting components, air tools and punch presses feeding the manufacturing plant. However, three other unused factories also remain on the site due to downsizing of the UK manufacturing operation.

Strain gauge amplifier connects to variety of sensors
The ITA-1 (Click-R Clack-R) analogue strain gauge amplifier has been unveiled by Interface Force Measurements. The amplifier is used to convert a sensor’s millivolt signal into an analogue signal for display or data acquisition. The product is connected to the sensor in line via a 5-pin, M12 connector.

The new additions – which comprise robust and ergonomic push buttons, switches and pilot lights, indicators, timers, sockets and potentiometers – will allow panel designers to incorporate additional functionality and flexibility into their electrical panels.
