New Handheld Infrared Thermometers with Colour-Change Display for Alarm Indication
Calex Electronics Limited is pleased to announce the new ST640 series of handheld infrared thermometers.
These ergonomically designed units provide users with a wide range of features, including a novel backlit LCD display that changes to red when the measured temperature reaches either of the user-adjustable HIGH and LOW alarm limits. There is also an audible alarm to make sure that the user is in no doubt when the target has reached one of the pre-set temperature limits. These features combine to make scanning large areas for hot or cold spots quick and easy.

There are currently two models to choose from. The first, model ST640, has a fixed emissivity setting of 0.95, which makes it ideal for most organic-based materials and non-shiny (painted, corroded or anodised) metals. The second, model ST642, has a built-in miniature socket for a type K thermocouple, allowing both non-contact and contact measurements to be made by one instrument. It also has an adjustable emissivity setting of between 0.1 and 1.0, which can be set automatically by combining the thermocouple input with the built-in eSmart software feature.

Both units measure temperatures from -32°C to 535°C with 0.1°C resolution. They also offer a superior 12:1 field of view, which helps to minimise errors by producing a small diameter measurement area. The built-in laser sighting makes targeting simple.

Readings can be taken in °C or °F, and by scrolling through the display menu, it is possible to read the instantaneous, maximum, minimum, average and differential temperatures. When the trigger is released the last measurement is held for approximately 7 seconds before the unit automatically turns off.

ST640 series thermometers will operate in ambient temperatures from 0°C to 50°C.

Each unit is supplied complete with a 9V PP3 battery, instruction manual and a soft carrying case.
