Posi
tion sensing solutions from USA encoder specialists BEI Sensors Inc. will include Zone 1 explosion proof hollow shaft optical shaft encoders, downhole linear position sensors, special drawworks encoders and intrinsic safety barriers that provide power and signal isolation for encoder systems. These products are well proven in oil and gas applications and are designed to operate in high temperatures and pressures with the extreme levels of shock and vibration that is part of the daily working environment for the industry.
An explosion –proof version of BEI's SwiftComm™ will also be shown – a wireless transmitter and receiver system for incremental or SSI absolute encoders and sensors that allows cable-free, high speed communication using a secure 2.4 GHz RF protocol. SwiftComm is aimed at motion control and position measurement applications where it can replace hard wired cabling over long runs, or simplify installation for rotating equipment and complicated encoder to controller routing on all types of machinery.
Also on display will be a range of magnetic rotary encoders from Avtron Industrial Automation Inc. who have recently signed a distribution agreement with Variohm. The wide-gap magnetic sensing technology developed by Avtron can 'see through' dust, dirt, water, oil and grease and perfectly suits the extremes of oil and gas applications.
A selection of linear position sensing products from Variohm's distribution partner Celesco Inc. will include 'string pot' or cable extension transducers that can be engineered for intrinsically-safe-rated use in hazardous environments for accurate linear measurement from a few millimetres up to 50 metres.
Variohm will also exhibit a broad range of other sensing technologies including its own EPT3100 series pressure transducers. Variohm's wide range includes sensor and transducer solutions for the measurement of linear and angular position, vibration, force & torque, pressure and temperature for demanding applications throughout industry, agriculture, construction, autosports, and research.
