Industry 4.0 sensors cope with harsh environments

Contrinex inductive and photoelectric sensors from Molex are now in stock at Mouser Electronics. The miniature sensors are ideal for applications such as packaging machines, food and beverage, filling plant, textile, machine tools, and logistics.

The inductive and photoelectric sensors are robust, self-contained sensors with an integrated IO-Link in a compact housing. Part of Molex’s range of Industry 4.0 solutions, the sensors feature a large sensing range and are ideal for limited space applications and challenging environments.

Contrinex inductive sensors offer a long sensing distance range of 1mm to 40mm, which reduces the risk of sensor damage from close objects.

The photoelectric sensors feature one-piece, factor-1 steel and aluminum housing, IP67- and IP69K-rated enclosure, and vibration and shock resistance, making them suitable for harsh and wet environments.

They are available in cubic and cylindrical housings working on diffuse, reflex, and through-beam operating principles, with sensing distances ranging from 1mm to 50,000mm.

The IP67- and Ecolab-rated devices feature excellent colour and contrast recognition, a diffuse sensor with background suppression, and UV light technology for transparent object detection.

To support development, Mouser also stocks a selection of photoelectric sensor hardware from Molex.
