Scum and fat defeated by Börger’s pumps
Following a series of intensive trials to find the most effective method of removing scum and fat at a flagship Wastewater Treatment Plant in the South West, one of the UK’s main water companies has invested in PL200 pumps made by Börger.
Fitted with optimum rag-proof rotors, the 3kW energy-efficient Börger pumps operate at 20 m3/hr, removing scum and fat from a total of four tanks.

One of the water company’s Principal Engineer’s commented: “After extensive testing it was found that the rotor-design of Börger’s pump was the only type that could truly handle this difficult and often troublesome application”

Following the trial, the water company have since had a further three of Börger’s PL 200 pumps installed by May Gurney.

Designed with a large sealing area and highly effective scraping edge, Börger’s PL 200 pump benefits from low pulsation and high pressure stability, making it particularly suitable for tackling abrasive and aggressive fluids.
