Börger put maintenance into check at Checkley
Pumps made by Börger have significantly reduced lengthy maintenance at Severn Trent Water’s wastewater treatment plant in the historic village of Checkley, near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
Börger’s PL300 Pumps, which are designed with Maintenance-In-Place, have replaced two progressive cavity pumps that had to be completely stripped down for repairs and servicing, as Severn Trent Water’s Service Delivery Manager Dean Wright explains:

“The Börger pumps are much easier to work on. We can get straight into them with simple tools – and just as importantly, they have proved very efficient for transferring thickened sludge to the digester”.
Börger’s Maintenance-In-Place allows quick and convenient replacement of all service parts – without time-consuming removal of pipes, drives or other pump components. Uncomplicated maintenance and pump design also allows easy replacement of rotors, rotor tips, radial and axial liners. Coupled with low energy consumption, Börger’s pumps provide very competitive total life costs.
