Piece of Cake for Börger’s tough pumps
A PL200 pump from Börger has solved a challenging sludge-cake application for South East Water. Designed with a Maintenance-in-Place (MIP) Radial Liner System, Börger’s PL200 replaced an auger-feed progressive-cavity sludge cake pump, located under an old centrifuge decanter at Arlington WwTW.
South East Water’s Production Technician, Simon Ashdown, explained: “Börger’s pump has performed well and has delivered consistent performance during our treatment processes.”

He added: “Previously we’d purchased Börger’s Mobile Diesel Pump, which has proved a very good investment. The Sludge Cake Pump also works very efficiently and effectively. Its Maintenance-In-Place makes it very easy to service”.

To keep the footprint at Arlington WwTW to a minimum, Börger’s PL200 (installed by Southampton-based Pumpseal) was close-coupled with a flange-to-flange connection. Additional MIP features include front and rear axial liner plates.
