Off The Shelf Connectors For Parallel Linear Motion from HepcoMotion
The continuous development of the HepcoMotion Utilitrak® linear motion systems has already brought significant benefit in terms of enhanced quality, availability and cost. The Utilitrak linear guide provides a narrow, compact profile that is well suited to a variety of production environments where smooth, high speed motion is required. And now thanks to the introduction of standard bridge connections parallel Utilitrak systems can be installed with ease.
Utilitrak is an ideal choice for running two systems in parallel where one slide uses DualVee guide wheels and other MadeWell™ crowned rollers. As precise parallelism is difficult to achieve it is not uncommon for mounting surfaces to be slightly out of true. The Utilitrak design compensates for these mounting errors and does not require absolute parallelism for accurate operation.

The DualVee guide wheel carriage assembly and vee channel side serves as the motion guide while the crowned roller and open channel allow for misalignment. The benefit is significant savings in cost and assembly time associated with mounting and surface preparation.

The new bridge connections further simplify assembly by joining the two slides and providing a stable mounting assembly. These connections are available in steel or aluminium. The steel version may be specified in a variety of widths with mounting holes to suit the application. Its aluminium counterpart is an industry-standard profile extrusion with T-slots for ease of mounting.

Utilitrak is offered in two basic series. The first – SW – has steel guide wheels running on a hardened bearing steel channel and is designed to transport high loads smoothly. For lighter duty applications where highly smooth operation is not critical the PW Series is recommended. This economical version has polymer guide wheels running on an anodized aluminium channel. A third option, Stainless Steel Composite Utilitrak, is for applications that call for high load capacity and corrosion resistance.
