Moeller’s New Joystick Gives You The Creeps!

Designing operator controls to allow, for example, easy and intuitive selection of creep and full-speed running, as well as directional control, is simple with the new RMQ-Titan joysticks from Moeller Electric.

Unlike conventional joysticks, this has two switch positions in each operating direction, the first of which can be used to select creep speed and then, when the joystick is displaced further in the required direction, the second switch can be used to select full speed.

These robust and versatile joystick switches can also be used in many other applications, such as selection of set-up and run modes in machines, and choosing between two stop positions on travelling hoists.

The new joysticks are available in three versions. The first has two operating directions arranged vertically, while the second also has two operating directions, but this time arranged horizontally. The third version has four operating directions – up, down, right and left. The joysticks can be fitted with standard normally open and early-make contacts from the RMQ-Titan range.

When correctly installed, Moeller’s RMQ-Titan joystick offer IP66 ingress protection, and are also certified for use in Zone 22, Category 3 dust environments, in line with ATEX Directive 94/9 EC. This makes them ideal for use in mills, woodworking plant, cement works, animal feed production and similar applications where high levels of dust can be expected.

The RMQ-Titan joysticks complement the existing joystick switches in the Moeller Electric range, as well as the company’s unique “clover leaf” quadruple pushbutton assemblies, all of which provide convenient and economical solutions when only a single switching step is needed in each direction.
