Low Cost, Low Friction Slide for Aluminium Profile System.
Item GmbH has recently introduced a T-Slot Slider into its Line-8 aluminium machine kit system. The Slider consists of a zinc die-cast body 80mm long and 40mm wide, fitted with free-running plastic inserts. This Slider neatly dovetails into the Item 8mm slot with a surprisingly small amount of play, to give a robust low-friction linear slide in any Line-8 profile. No additional lubrication is required, and the slide can be used under difficult ambient conditions (dust, humidity etc.)
The zinc body serves to give the slide rigidity under load, and incorporates M6 hex. nuts to allow easy attachment of parts or frame structures.

The T-Slot Sliders are likely to prove ideal for low cost mechanisms such as sliding doors, counterweights, or any slide where a little play is acceptable. They are designed for low to moderate loads, and no maintenance is required.
Two different mounting kits are available, which allow for either a fixed bearing or a floating bearing arrangement. These are designed for the many applications where (typically four) sliders are to be attached to a rigid assembly which is to run on two separate parallel profiles
