Typically DualVee Washdown Wheels last three times longer than the average bearing, cutting replacement costs and saving maintenance time. However this maybe a conservative estimate as one manufacturer during the field trials of this product reported a six-fold increase in bearing replacement intervals.
Designed to be easily exchanged with standard vee wheels, DualVee Washdown Wheels have a unique outer shield and inner seal for exceptional protection from liquids and debris, in harsh linear applications.
The over-moulded metallic shield acts as a primary seal when subjected to a stream of high pressure washdown fluid. This causes the shield to deflect and the soft rubber layer compresses against the metallic surface of the wheel forming a momentary seal that prevents the ingress of liquids.
The inner seal provides a secondary line of defence, keeping external fluids out of the wheel whilst retaining the internal lubrication grease. Both factors are important in determining the life of the wheel.
Once the stream is directed away from the wheel, the deflected shield returns to its original position. This allows any residual fluid, that has entered the void between shield and seal, to drain or spin out by centrifugal force.
Available in two sizes, DualVee Washdown Wheels have stainless steel balls and races and are lubricated with FDA approved grease. Stainless Steel Track is also available with optional surface treatment to enhance its corrosion resistance, making this the first choice linear system where washdown is a requirement.
