Especially for 2017, Lee Spring has announced an expanded range of DIN sizes with an additional 525 SKUs. These will include a new DIN-Plus series which match up in size with standard DIN2098 Part 2 and Part 1 series springs, but with added corrosion resistance (passivation for stainless EN 10270-3-1.4310-NS range and plating for spring steel EN 10270-1-SH range).
This greatly expands the Lee Spring offering in DIN compression springs to meet increasing global demand for metric sizes with the added benefit of excellent corrosion resistance.
They come in 2 sub-series Part 1 and Part 2 – Part 1 includes standard to large compression springs from 3-135mm diameter. Part 2 are available from 0.6-5.4mm diameter. These are expected to be of particular interest to manufacturers within Europe (not withstanding Brexit) but are of global interest as DIN standards are important in many countries with developed or developing manufacturing industries.
The Part 1 set includes more standard to larger DIN2098 compression springs made of spring steel grade EN 10270-1-SH available in sizes from 4.4-1,015mm (0.173-39.961”) long. Wire sizes range from 0.5-10mm (0.020-0.394”) over a selection of outside diameters to work inside hole diameters from 3.4-140mm (0.134-5.512”).
All parts are right hand wound with ends squared and ground for added stability under heavy loading. This series is also preset for wire sizes 1.25mm (0.049”) and up which increases load carrying ability. The Lee Spring DIN-Plus Part 1 Series also includes a zinc plate finish, which improves corrosion resistance and distinguishes the Lee Spring DIN-Plus Series from many other commercial offerings available.
The Part 2 set is a smaller range of DIN2098 compression springs made from stainless steel grade EN 10270-3-1.4310-NS available in sizes from 1.0-52.4mm (0.039-2.063”) long. Wire sizes range from 0.1-0.4mm (0.004-0.016”) over an selection of outside diameters to work inside hole diameters from 0.8-6.mm (0.032-0.237”).
All parts are right hand wound with ends squared, not ground. The Lee Spring DIN-Plus Series stainless steel range is distinguished from other commercial offerings with Lee Spring’s passivation finish, which maximises the essential corrosion resistance versus non-passivated stainless steel.
